Kathmandu Marriott Hotel

Kathmandu Marriott Hotel

The Kathmandu Marriott Hotel is a 214 room contemporary five star hotel on Manakamana Marg in Naxal, roughly four kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport and close to the diplomatic quarter.

What it is good for

This is the dependable option. Rooms are large and quiet, the beds are what you want after a long haul flight, and the bathrooms have both a tub and a separate shower. Guests who have flown twenty hours to get here tend to care more about that than about architecture on their first night.

It is also the easiest hotel in the city to work from. Reliable connectivity, proper desks, and a lobby where you can hold a conversation without shouting.

Where it sits

Naxal is central without being in the middle of Thamel, which means you can reach the old city quickly but sleep without the noise. Pashupatinath and Bouddhanath are both a short drive east.

Who tends to choose it

Guests who want a known quantity, travellers arriving late or leaving early, and anyone who would rather spend their curiosity on the mountains than on the hotel.
