Common Questions
The questions guests ask us most often about Himalayan Renewal, on who it suits, how genuine the Ayurveda is and how much of the day is planned.
Planning this journey
Guests who want the practice taken seriously rather than presented as an amenity. It suits people who have tried yoga or meditation at home and want to sit with teachers who have spent a life inside the tradition, and it suits anyone who simply needs to stop.
None. Sessions are private, so the teaching starts where you are. Complete beginners and long-term practitioners both work here because nobody is being taught at the pace of a group.
October and November give the clearest mountain mornings from Dhulikhel, then March to May. The practice works in any season, but the northern view from the ridge is what the timing is really about.
The wellness programme
Yes. The practitioner holds a BAMS degree and a registration number, and the consultation begins with your constitution, digestion and sleep rather than a treatment menu. Treatments are prescribed afterwards, not chosen from a list.
Less than most people expect. Mornings hold the practice, afternoons are frequently left open, and that is deliberate. The empty hours are what guests remember.
Yes. Some guests want more treatment and less walking, others want the philosophy sessions extended. Tell us early and it shapes the itinerary rather than being added to it.
Practicalities
Three nights at The Dwarika’s in Battisputali, which has run its own Newari restoration workshop on site since 1962, then four nights at a Himalayan wellness retreat on the Dhulikhel ridge.
No. The walking is gentle hill country and entirely optional, and the highest point on the journey is the ridge itself. Nobody needs trekking experience.
Yes. Dates are built around you, the guide and vehicle are yours alone, and no other party joins at any point.
